For more information about the Federal Tax Credit for homeowners and how it was impacted by the One Big Beautiful Bill click here

To summarize, currently there is a federal tax credits for homeowners who buy solar which gives the homeowner a 30% dollar for dollar tax credit to homeowners with taxable income.  This tax credit is expiring at the end of 2025.

For homeowners who go solar via TPO (Third Party Ownership), these homeowner don't own the solar system, so they are not liable or responsible for the solar system.  With TPO, the tax credit goes to the owner of the solar, which is the finance company.  This is who you have your agreement with for the power you buy from the solar system.

Think of it this way, with TPO solar (aka Power purchase agreement) we become your power company and sell you energy at a cheaper rate.  It really is that simple.

The good news for you is, we own it, not you, so you do not have to worry about any maintenance or repairing the system if is damaged.  The install company also covers all warranties for the system since they own the equipment.  These programs are very popular now.

The thing to know:  The tax credits for TPO solar is going away at the end of 2027!

Depending on which state you are in, there are also some state incentives as well.  Sunny Side Solar is in 46 states.

If you have been kicking the can down the road on solar for a while, act now before the opportunity is gone.  Start with a 10 minute free consultation to see if it is even an option for you.  CLICK HERE TO SCHEDULE

Because every home uses a different amount of electricity and gets a different amount of sun on their roof, how much it costs to go solar is different for every home.  There are also ALOT of options.  It would be impossible to throw out a number without getting some basic information from you first.  CLICK HERE To get a saving report that is specific for your home and energy needs.

Things to Know: When exploring your options to go solar our experts are here to help you navigate your options and make the best choice for you and your family. This is where we shine!  At Sunny Side Solar we have hundreds of install and finance partners to choose from, so you don't have to worry if you are getting the best deal.  When you work with Sunny Side Solar you can be confident we will find the best solution for you and make this a win.

That said, in terms of cost, it really depends on a lot of factors.  If it is not a win, no worries, don't go solar and move forward with the peace of mind knowing solar isn't right for you.  For most homeowners we talk to however, they are very excited about saving big on their energy costs by using renewable energy.  Fortunately with solar you will save big on your energy costs over time, add value to your home and with no investment or out-of-pocket expense.  That's a win win in my book!

We offer FREE installation, FREE monitoring, maintenance and warranties and Free service.  When it comes to the power the solar system generates however, that power is not free.  Just like the power your electricity company generates and sells to you every month, the energy generated by the solar will be bought by you to power your home.  The difference is the solar power that you buy is at a fixed rate, and is typically costs less than buying it from your utility company.  This is where you see a savings immediately which compounds over the years as rates with your electricity company increase.

At Sunny Side Solar we believe in full transparency, we do offer FREE POWER, no one can do that, we offer FREE INSTALLATION of your solar system, free warranties and free production guarantees.

If you choose to buy solar rather than enroll in a solar program then you would need to purchase the solar system.  We do offer this as well, and we have many financing options.

The Thing To Know: The goal with solar is simple, to save money and to shield yourself from future rate increases with your utility that are out of your control.  You do not need to own the solar panels and the equipment to do that.

That said, as I mentioned we do offer ownership programs as well as battery back-up for homeowners who are interested in that.

It's Transferable.

You are now able to do this because solar no longer has any sort of lien on your property, so when or if you sell it is no hassle.

Just like if you were to move and switch the electric bill over to the new owners, you would call and switch the solar payment over to the new homeowner.  Just to remind you, this payment for the solar is instead of having a bill with Xcel.  That bill with Xcel would have been substantially higher than what they will pay for solar.  The new homeowners are typically thrilled with inheriting this benefit with their new home.

In fact, this actually has been proven by Zillow to add value to your home.

Again, this renewable energy program is fully transferrable, just like the “energy program” you are currently enrolled in with your utility company. This is outlined in the agreement.

Lock in the rate you pay for electricity for 25 years and beyond!

That depends.

If you own the system, you are responsible for system maintenance.

If we own the system we cover all maintenance, insurance and warranties.

Because of this, many homeowners find it most beneficial to let us own the solar so we can take the risk, while you enjoy all of the benefits of solar and a reduced electric bill with no risk and no investment.

At Sunny Side Solar we offer the Tesla Powerwall 3, as well as several other battery options.

Batteries are primarily needed in markets where the utility company does not offer Net Metering, for example California.  We are located in California and have several partners there.  For those systems batteries are included at no cost to the homeowner, while we reduce their monthly electric costs by hundreds in some instances.

That said, if your utility company does offers Net Metering then you are lucky because you don’t need a battery.  If you want a battery because you are worried about the grid going down and power outages, we got you covered, as I mentioned we have many great options available.

Something Interesting:  Many homeowners choose to not own the solar because they do not want to make an investment in solar, but they would like to enjoy the benefits of having solar on their home.  It's not that they didn't like solar, they just didn't like spending a ton of money on it.

Our goal is with the many options we have available we can find a way to make going solar a win for you, and not some crazy thing.

This is a common question that we get, and the answer is simple; it’s called Net Metering.

In short, Net Metering means that homeowners who have solar receive a credit for the excess energy that is generated from their solar system.  This credit is used later to power the home at night or when it is cloudy.

In most cases this means you don’t need a battery.  That is if you are lucky and your utility company offers Net Metering.   Each state and each utility have different programs available, this is where we can help.  During our consultations we review with you what solar programs are available in your specific area.

There are many different options when it comes to going solar.  We can trim or remove trees, do a ground mounted solar system or we can pull a shade report and see how much shade you actually have.  You would be surprised, we have been able to get some homeowners qualified who were declined for shade with other solar companies.   With the advanced technology our team uses, in many cases, we can still work with a roof that has some shade.   CLICK HERE to set up a site survey so we see if your home qualifies.

This is exactly why we inspect your roof before we install solar on your roof. If your roof does need to be replaced before going solar, we are partnered with several top-tier roofing contractors that can help with this.

The good news is, if you need a roof you can potentially qualify for a tax incentive on the roof as well as the solar system by working with us to help replace the roof.  We also handle everything, including the insurance claim.

The short answer is it depends on a lot of factors and what is available.  This is more complex than you might think, but not to worry, our warehouse and install manager handles all of this.  Either way, our partners only use Top Tier, Tier 1 solar panels, with the highest efficiency and product warranties.
